In Minneapolis, Minnesota we recently came across a Garage Door where the customer had re-faced the door with some decorative trim and hardware. While doing this project the homeowner added roughly 30-40lbs of weight to the garage door. By adding this weight eventually the door would have malfunctioned. The customer called us to come and rebalance his garage door to make sure it was operating safely and smoothly. We went over a couple options from replacement to just adding some tension to the current spring system. It was the customer’s decision to just add tension to the current spring to help alleviate some of the added weight. Upon completion of the work the door was balanced and no longer came crashing down when released from the garage door opener.

There is nothing worse than trying to leave your home to go to work and the Garage Door Wont Close. This is a very common issue that we run into and recently helped one of our North Minneapolis customers with fixing this problem. Upon arrival the technician asked the customer to demonstrate the issue.
