Stripped Gear On LiftMaster Opener

Have you ever gone to open your Garage Door and when you push the wall button nothing happens but you can still hear the motor running inside the Garage Door Opener? Usually this means you have a Stripped Gear and Sprocket Assembly and it needs to be repaired or have a new Opener installed. One of our customers over in Minneapolis, MN was having this issue with his opener and we identified that the gear had stripped out inside the Opener so it was just spinning and not matching up with the other gears. We were able to provide options between repair or replacement and the customer opted to go with a full replacement.

Sometimes we find that it has gotten to the point where you may just want to replace the entire Garage Door. This was the case for one of our customers in Crystal, MN; they had moved in to their home within the last year but had inherited a cheap sub-par Garage Door. Initially the door worked fine for them but over time it started to jam when closing and even the panels began to crack. We explained to the customer that we could repair the door to the point of getting it functional again but there was nothing we could do about the cracks that were forming on the panels and it would only get worse. There are many different problems that can occur with the Garage Door but one of the more difficult repairs is when a broken cable happens to your Garage Door. This often times will happen when the door is opening or closing and because of the weight of the door being supported by the Torsion Springs the door will end up going crooked and jamming completely. In Bloomington, MN we were out servicing a customer for some new bottom seal and new precision bearing rollers but while we were inspecting the entire Garage Door we found that their cable was down to only a few steel threads and was about to snap at any moment. We were able to replace their cables before they broke which can cause even more damage and costs.
